Last year we were made aware of the fact that elephants are killed for their ivory in order to fund terrorism and criminal gangs.
This represented the diabolical intersection of two problems that are of great concern - species extinction and global terrorism. Both involve the loss of innocent life and require urgent action.
For us, that action has been to create a short animated film called “Last Days.” Our aim is to help the viewer focus on the trail of money as well as the trail of blood. We also worked with prominent conservationists, terrorism experts and designers to build a site to channel the viewer’s anger, sadness and compassion into action.
There are things we can actually do to stop wild elephants from disappearing from our world while cutting off funding for some of the world's most notorious terrorist networks. Your participation in this Thunderclap is a strategic first step.
Join us now and help make sure that “Last Days” is viewed by millions.
An elephant disappears every 15 minutes. It is our hope that this film brings an activist into existence at least that often.
We can stop this. We need your help.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Bigelow, Scott Z. Burns, Annapurna Pictures and
The Last Days Team.
